TRANSFORMING OUR BUSINESS: INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS

Artificial intelligence Roadbotics uses artificial intelligence to create a more efficient, objective and affordable process of pavement assessment, using mobile phone camera technology to survey the road. The visual data collected is captured in 3m sections of carriageway and is then uploaded to the cloud and objectively rated by the system on a 1-5 scale. The results are then compiled and presented alongside images of each corresponding 3m section of carriageway to inform future maintenance strategies. Augmented reality FM Conway’s Consultancy team has combined advanced ground penetrating radar (GPR) with the latest augmented reality technology to create an extension of the real world, allowing site based teams to visualise the geospatial position of utilities and shallow structures via handheld tablets in the field. With shallow subsurface assets a major challenge facing contractors working in London, augmented reality technology enables users to avoid costly and timely utility strikes that have serious safety implications.

FM Conway is on a transformational journey designed to digitise elements of our business and boost our efficiencies and processes. We are integrating innovative technologies into every aspect of our business, helping us to transform the way we deliver for our clients for the better. Our investment in people, technology and sustainable solutions shows that we are much more than just a construction company. Intelligence-led asset management FM Conway has introduced an intelligent asset maintenance solution that gives key decision makers access to detailed asset and inspection information, to help extend the life of assets and in turn maximise value. Working with existing asset management programmes, the system aggregates all the data, including sensor technology, which improves data accuracy and provides a holistic overview of the assets. This insight allows highway authorities to move to predictive maintenance programmes, that will help reduce carbon whilst also delivering a more reliable network. Mixed reality Microsoft HoloLens uses mixed reality to optimise maintenance capabilities across all aspects of the network. Sitting within a pair of glasses, this mixed reality tool merges the real and virtual world to produce new environments and visualisations where teams can interact with physical and digital objects in real time. This helps increase productivity and introduces efficiencies throughout the construction process, including carbon savings.
