Where the bomb had gone off, there was a huge hole in the ground; and lodged into the side of a building, several floors up, was the gearbox of a car that had been next to the explosion on the ground. The force of the blast had shattered all the windows of all the offices, even many streets away from where the bomb had gone off. Our job was to go through all the offices, pushing out the windows and any other debris onto the streets, so that the windows could be boarded up and made safe. On the streets, the police had to go through every piece of glass, wood, or metal that was near the explosion, checking for anything that could be
