Enhancing Communities
Social value is now, more than ever, so important to the recovery of our nation; as we work to build back our economy, we too must support and build back our communities. The past 18 months have been challenging for all and, as you will read, busy too; we have remained committed to ensuring that the safety, health and wellbeing of all our people has been at the forefront of our activity. Whilst the impact of COVID-19 on mental wellbeing is still being understood, we launched our Mental Wellbeing Strategy, Healthier Together, to demonstrate our commitment to raising the issue in our industry and beyond; it is the first step in helping people understand that mental wellbeing is about wellness rather than illness. Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy, All Great People, launched in 2020, outlines our commitment to ensuring that EDI is at the very core of our business and guarantees we are stronger as a result. We have also continued to support our communities despite the restraints of the last year; from helping and donating to our charity and community partners, to providing opportunities to young people through the government’s Kickstart Scheme. We, of course, also remain committed to sustainable construction and are fully supporting the UK government’s ‘Build Back Better’ campaign for a green business recovery, including low carbon collaborations with our customers. At FM Conway, positive social and environmental impact is central to our operating ethos and we have remained true to our values throughout. I hope you enjoy the report.
