CARBON FOOTPRINT
NET ZERO STRATEGY Based on FM Conway’s track record of forward-thinking investment in sustainable solutions and a commitment to continuous improvement, we have developed a Net Zero Strategy to play our part in addressing the worldwide issue of climate change. Prioritising five areas of our activities, our strategy provides a credible approach to our 2045 Net Zero commitment. Our five areas of focus are:

With improving electric charging infrastructure within the UK, it will become easier to use electric to power small tools, welfare cabins and plant, as well as switching much of our fleet to EV or low emission alternatives.

Waste Management
We aim to build on our track record in this area by improving the visibility of our waste streams and improving our data gathering to inform future recycling and waste objectives. Increasing our recycled aggregate product (RAP) within our asphalt specifications will be a critical factor to reduce our clients’ carbon footprint and enhance our low carbon credentials for asphalt delivery.

Energy Management
The last year has not been without numerous challenges, but the worldwide need to reduce carbon emissions is one challenge that will not be going away.
We are, therefore, delighted to report an 11% decrease in our carbon emissions over the last year, reflecting our commitment to both sustainable construction and the government’s aim to ‘Build Back Better’. The reduction was achieved through our management of diesel, gas and gas oil, whilst our electricity is now from 100% renewable sources, thus showing a positive approach to reducing carbon across all aspects of our operation. We believe our Net Zero Strategy, outlined opposite, will support us on keeping this downward trajectory.
