SUSTAINABILITY STATEMENT

We recently reviewed and updated our approach to sustainability to better reflect the excellent work being delivered across our business and our renewed focus on delivering a greener future. Our improved Sustainability Statement focuses on six key areas: • Our roadmap to Net-Zero Carbon by 2045 • Being resource efficient and enhancing natural capital • Responsible recycling and the circular economy • Producing a greener product portfolio and championing a low carbon economy • Investing in our communities • Putting our People First Our Drainage Treatment Plant, built almost 20 years ago, is an excellent example of the circular economy. The facility allows us to divert hard-to-recycle gully waste from landfill, and provides us with stone, sand and gravel for use as recycled material in our aggregates division. Additionally, the water recovered is cleaned and used in our aggregate washing plant, providing a virtuous circle of recovering solid constituents from the gully waste and using the water to wash the recycled aggregates for use in high value applications.
