Our aim – To support the health and well-being of our people and our communities

CURRENT KEY AREAS OF ACTIVITY Commitment to Health and Safety - ‘People First’ is our commitment to the health, safety and well-being of our people; the programme seeks to ensure that our people finish the working day as healthy as they started it. Over the last 12 months we have increased our measuring and monitoring and improved our approach to health and safety based on excellent management information and reporting systems. This approach has seen a 58% reduction in days lost through injury. Road safety - FM Conway is delighted to have received Transport for London’s supplier award for road safety for the company’s work in addressing a key health and safety issue in London. FM Conway was also 1st company in the UK and 17th in the World to seek and achieve the accreditation ISO 39001 for Road Traffic Safety. ACTION PLAN (to include) ‘People First’ is FM Conway’s health and safety programme putting the health and well-being of our people paramount in our operations and we actively support health and well-being in our communities. Our people are our greatest asset and we will continue to support them through our ‘People First’ programme. Our planned activities include: „ Monitoring and measuring safety in the workplace „ Increasing our employee satisfaction rating in the annual staff survey „ Increasing the number of first aiders within the company „ Increasing the number of trained mental health first aiders within the company „ Evaluating our internal health and well-being employee offer „ Extending our health and well-being training into our communities „ Collaborating with charities and third sector organisations on community health and well-being

Mental health first aiders - Two FM Conway employees have been accredited as ‘Mental Health First Aid Trainers’ and we have trained 36 employees in the first 12 months as part of an ongoing programme.

Gym and personal trainer - FM Conway provides a gym at its head office for employees as well as employing a personal trainer one day a week to run classes and a weight loss programmes. All employees also have a ‘My Active Discounts’ login that provides access to offers on nutrition and fitness items. Lighthouse Club - The Lighthouse Club is the construction sector charity supporting those who have suffered loss or hardship through working in the industry. FM Conway has donated over £150,000 to the Lighthouse Club in the last three years to support the well-being of families affected by loss and the Construction Industry Helpline.
