HVO Fuel Costs Stand Down Time

Total

It is anticipated that as this model becomes more embedded into the way of working that these costs would disappear from final accounts. The table below highlights the difference in cost between the works undertaken and the extraordinary costs on top. With a 129% increase on the original estimate, it is doubtful that the model would be viable at this stage, but with the lessons learned and removal of the extraordinary cost, it becomes a much more feasible 20% cost increase. It is also likely that costs for electrical plant will come down as the supply and capability increases. Added to the fact that the operations will become more efficient with the spread of the cost across jobs and the low carbon operations being amalgamated into the schedule of rates, the cost differential should decrease further.

The bar graph and pie charts below illustrate how the additional cost affected the final accounts, and that the actual works cost was just over half of the total bill. The removal of these costs going forward would mean that there is roughly a 20% premium at the present time for low carbon operations. It is hoped that this could be further reduced with cheaper equipment coming onto the market from the supply chain.
